About this Course

Programme Objectives

This programme equips team leaders, supervisors and managers with the leadership skills and knowledge to develop team members’ skills and motivate team members to learn how to effectively support their leaders. It covers competence building to identify and address skill development requirements, and motivate team members towards self development , teamwork and independent performance in a team.

Programme Outline

Identify Skill Development Needs

- Review team and organisational business plans to identify new and emerging skill requirements

- Work with team members to identify current and future skill requirements

- Translate team members’ skill requirements into learning and development plans

Address Skill Development Needs

- GIdentify learning and development opportunities that support the development of team member skills

- Encourage and support team members to develop and share their skills and experiences to enhance team

effectiveness

- Provide on-the-job instruction, coaching and mentoring to increase the capability and performance of team   members

Motivate Employee Independence and Development

- Communicate expectations of team performance in a positive manner

- Encourage team members to learn from mistakes

- Provide opportunities for team members to take on higher duties and learn in the workplace

- Support team members to identify and address their skill requirements

Learning Methodologies

Formative assessment which may comprise of role plays, group discussions, presentations, case studies, games, oral and written questioning.

Who Should Attend

Those currently in a management role or aspiring to the role, with the skills and knowledge to encourage their team members. This includes: Junior Executives, Supervisors, Team Leaders, Assistant Managers.
