About this Course

After attending the course, the participants will have the relevant knowledge and application skills in demonstrating first aid/CPR skills to apply them in their workplace. 

Participants are able to render first aid in their workplace.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Basic Principles and Practice of First-Aid
  • First-aid Requirements Factories and Other Workplaces
  • Basic Knowledge on Wounds, Bleeding & Shock
  • Basic Knowledge on Fractures and Soft Tissue Injuries
  • Handling and Transportation of the Injured
  • Knowledge & Practical on Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation & AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Breathing Difficulties
  • The Unconscious Patient
  • Occupational Eye Injuries
  • Understanding for Burn Injuries
  • Industrial Toxicology
  • Workplace Safety and Accident Prevention
  • Management of Medical Emergencies
  • Revision
  • Written and Practical Examination

ASSESSMENT HOURS

2 hours assessment (24 hours for coursework)

ASSESSMENT FORMAT

All Participants will go through the following examinations and must passed all the test in order to be certified as qualified Occupational First Aider.

  1. Theory Test - 70% out of 40qns
  2. CPR AED Practical Test
  3. Bandages and Scenarios Test

COURSE ENTRY LEVEL

ESS Level 5 and above

Participants of this course are advised to have at least ES WPLN Level 5 & above or equivalent as otherwise, the participants may find the course challenging to understand and pass the required assessments

METHODOLOGY AND LANGUAGE MEDIUM

  • Discussions & Presentations (40%)
  • Scenarios and Tabletops + Practical Sessions (60%)

Mandarin Classes available for in house training 

CERTIFICATE 

Upon passing the assessments of the OFA component, a certificate of achievement endorsed by Aris Integrated Medical and accredited by Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will be issued with a 2 years validity for both OFAC + AED. AED components is accredited by NRC (National Resuscitation Council). From 1st Nov 2014 onwards, all OFAC + AED will be changed to 2 years validity.
