About this Course

This is a two-year course which includes a six months industry attachment with an establishment within the hospitality industry that the school partners with.

During the training, you will be equipped with a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international hotel industry and gain an overview of the trade principles involved. You will also learn to handle general enquiries on the hotel's facilities and services, guest arrivals and departures, as well as event planning and organization.

Progression Opportunities

Higher Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. 

Higher Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates with a GPA of 3.0 and above may apply for progression to Technical Diploma in Culinary Arts course conducted by ITE in collaboration Institut Paul Bocuse, France. 

Career Prospects

Higher Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates are employed by hotels and other establishments in the hospitality sector. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Front Office Executive, Guest Relations Executive, Guest Services Assistant and Hospitality Services Executive.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. Career advancement prospects will improve as graduates acquire experience and upgrade their skills and knowledge by taking up higher- level courses.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Higher Nitec in Hospitality Operations course, you need to have:

GCE 'O' level grades in English Language, Mathematics/ Principles of Accounts and 1 other subject

Or

GCE ‘N(A)’ level passes in English Language, Mathematics and 3 other subjects

*GCE N(A) school leavers, who applied during the January intake under the Direct Entry Scheme,will undergo 10 weeks of preparatory programme followed by 2 years of Higher Nitec training.
