About this Course

This course will provide you with the skills and technical knowledge to support manufacturing functions, such as engineering design, machine operations, maintenance, materials control and work improvement activities in all stages of the manufacturing processes.

Acquire knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Troubleshoot problems in manufacturing processes.
  • Design jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
  • Initiate continuous work improvement activities to manufacturing processes.
  • Perform Production scheduling and material requirement planning for manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain quality assurance system for manufacturing.
  • Prepare necessary documents for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Perform Technical marketing, sales and services.

Higher Nitec in Engineering with Business graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics.

Higher Nitec in Engineering with Business graduates are employed by high value manufacturing industries in particular consumer electronics, precision engineering and equipment manufacturing companies. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Engineering Assistant, Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Production Supervisor, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technician and Quality Process Technician.  They are also suitable to be employed as Sales Executives and Assistant Sales Engineers.
