In today’s highly dynamic global economy, businesses seeking to make the most of their intellectual property to sustain their competitive advantages need to monitor and maintain their IP processes in alignment with their changing business objectives. Businesses seeking to improve upon their current IP processes are encourage to attend this 2 days intensive training.

The “Monitor and Maintain IP Processes” aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to:

1. Develop IP processes to contribute to IP management,

2. Evaluate and refine IP processes to support organisational objectives,

3. Champion IP processes within business unit to generate awareness of the importance of IP,

4. Supervise IP processes to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner, and

5. Evaluate and address IP infringements in accordance with organisational procedures.

In addition, a variety of web-based tools will be introduced and used in the facilitation of this course and participants are strongly encouraged to bring along their tablets or laptops.

This course is one of the four core mandatory competency required for the Practising Management Certification in IP Management (PMC-IPM).

LEARNER’S PRE-REQUISITE

 - Participants in this programme are assumed to have at least 2 years of working experience, with basic skills and knowledge in written and spoken English.

 - The education level of the individuals who sign up for this programme should be preferably secondary education and above.

 - This programme is designed as a foundational module for participants involved in IP consulting or IP management. 

Eg: Business analyst, Business consultant, IP Administrator, IP Executive, IP Engineer, IP Paralegal, IP Legal Associate, Patent Associate, R&D Manager, Tech Transfer Manager, IP Manager, IP Information Analyst, IP Broker, IP Insurer, IP Financier, IP Investor, IP Valuer, IP Valuation Analyst.

PROGRAMME ASSESSMENT

There will be a written assignment and an oral questioning session at the end of the course.

  • Written Assignment (Assignment is to be submitted to the assessor within 2 weeks after the training.)
  • Oral Questioning (1hr) (23 Nov – 27 Nov 2015) – Participants are to book their oral questioning session during the 2 days of training.

Participants may wish to attend the course without taking the assessment.  Participants who attend the course will receive a certificate of attendance from IP Academy (Singapore) and will not be eligible for the WDA funding.    

ELECTRONIC STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT (SOA)

Participants who have at least 75% attendance and pass the written assessment will be awarded an electronic Statement of Attainment (SOA).
