About this Course

This course seeks to equip participants with a basic understanding of how various aspects of intellectual property law, namely Patent, Registered Designs, Copyright and Trade Mark, can be applied to support and drive businesses in achieving their business strategies and objectives. 

The ‘Apply Basic Knowledge of IP Law to Support an Organisation' programme aims to provide the following knowledge and skills to the participants:

  • Business application of IP law
  • Considerations related to IP transactions
  • Qualifying criteria for seeking IP protection
  • Recognition of potential infringement activities
  • Defences available against allegations of infringement

The course is meant for professionals from the private and public sectors that needs to understand and apply basic knowledge of intellectual property law to support their organisations. 

This may include executives involved in: 

  • business development and management
  • business strategy
  • business consultancy;
  • IP management; 

PROGRAMME ASSESSMENT

There will be a written assessment and an oral questioning session at the end of the course:

  • Written Assessment on 30 June 2015 (09.00am-6.00pm)
  • Oral Questioning (2hrs) (8 July 2015 – 10 July 2015) – Participants are to book their oral questioning session on the first day of the course.
