About this Course

The Generic Manufacturing Skills (GMS) WSQ is a national skills training system developed by various sectors in the Manufacturing industry and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

The programmes under GMS WSQ offer a systematic pathway that aims to equip the workforce with vital industry skills and knowledge to enhance competency, increase operational productivity and professionalism within the industry.

WSQ Certificate in Generic Manufacturing Skills (Process) for trainees who have completed modules

• Apply Teamwork in the Workplace
  
• Apply 5S Techniques in the Workplace
  
• Apply Workplace Safety and Health Practices
  
• Perform Basic Maintenance Works
  
• Perform Fitting Works in Workshop
  

Who Should Attend 

The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system offers a systematic path for individuals to equip themselves with relevant competencies so that they can upgrade their skills, enhance their employability and stay relevant.

Modes of Implementation

• Training and Assessment Pathway
  
• Integrated Assessment Pathway (IAP)
  

The purpose of Integrated Assessment Pathway (IAP) is to assess the basic competency level of candidates required for the eligibility of the Certificate Generic Manufacturing Skills (Process) within one sitting.

Upon completion of IAP, foreign workers are eligible to upgrade their current R2 Work Permit to R1 Work Permit.

Certification

An individual who completes each module will get a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). Upon completion of all four modules, Certificate in Generic Manufacturing Skills (Process) certificate will be issued.

Minimum Entry Requirement 

Participants should have :

• Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 4
• Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 4
