This course will focus on the various applications of basic architectural and interior elements to improve residential spaces.

Content

ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS

Identify structural and non-structural elements
Outline the architectural components
Indicate the materials and finishes for architectural components
Explain the types of colour schemes
Select a colour scheme for interior spaces

INTERIOR ELEMENTS

Generalize the interior elements in respective spaces
Identify the design principles for arrangement/ spatial composition
Discuss the interior design styles or theme
Relate the chosen style for the various spaces.

LIGHTING

Identify the natural light situation of the interior spaces
Describe the types of artificial lighting
Discuss the lighting requirement of interior spaces
Illustrate how lighting is applied to the interior spaces
