About this Course

The goal of this Leadership Development Programme is to enable professionals and middle managers to become more effective leaders through the understanding and application of best practice leadership behaviours, based on Kouses’ and Posner’s (KP) Leadership Challenge Model.

This easy-to-grasp model has proven its effectiveness as a clear, evidence-based path to achieve time tested behaviours of effective leadership. Participants will learn more about behavioural tendencies affecting their leadership through self-assessment instrument.

Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to;

  • Learn and apply the *Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®
  • Communicate your fundamental values and beliefs
  • Focus people’s efforts on key values through own actions
  • Inspire others to share a common vision
  • Search for opportunities to take the risks needed for growth
  • Build collaboration, teamwork and trust
  • Strengthen the ability of others to excel
  • Recognise the accomplishment of others
  • Apply learning to ensure consistency and effectiveness in leadership decisions/actions
  • Collaborate, network, and challenge one another to excel in these Five Practices
  • Develop individual leadership development plan to improve leadership skills
  • Target Audience
  • Those managers or aspiring managers who are responsible for the managing and leading a group of people and desire to improve their leadership skills.

Two days

Methodologies

During the two-day training programme, experiential learning activities components will be introduced to simulate real-life like leadership challenges, physically and mentally to create awareness and make the learning experience ready to be applied back at work.

Other adult learning strategies, such as small group discussion, role-play and personal development plan, etc. will be suitably applied to ensure generalisation and the transfer of learning experience to working situation

Self-assessment of personal leadership practices will be administered to provide objective and actionable insights into personal leadership behaviours.  It will enable individual learners to formulate their individual actionable development plan.
