About this Course

This programme provides students with the basic principle of Marketing management and improve their management knowledge and abilities. It set the path for student to move up academically to a degree.

Course Syllabus/Content: (Module Descriptors)

Introduction to Business

In this module, the learner will understand the main accounting concepts and sources of finance for business, the need for human resource planning, and the importance of motivation in theory and in practice. Understand the main accounting concepts and sources of finance for business and the marketing process including marketing strategy, marketing planning and market research. Understand the factors that influence the scale of production, the location of production and the choice between different types of production process  and understand how the external environment creates opportunities and threats for a business. Understand the structure and classification of business. 

Introduction to Business Communication 

This Unit will enable learners to understand and know how to apply the principles which govern the transmission of information in business situations. Be able to compose all common types of written communication in a clear , complete and correct way . Understand the principles of communicating orally in an effective way and understand the importance of non verbal signals in communication . Understand how common barriers to successful communication arise, and how they can be overcome.Understand the content of a passage of simple business information and know how to summarize it effectively . Understand the role of computers and other modern communication technologies in business communication. Understand common business and communications terms

Introduction to Quantitative methods  

In this module, the learner will understand the rules of numeracy., be able to make and apply calculations relevant to business. Be able to use algebraic methods to solve business problems and  able to construct and use graphs, charts and diagrams in a business context. They will also be able to apply statistical methods to provide business and management information and understand and be able to apply the laws of probability to find solutions to business problems.

Introduction to Marketing

In this module, students will understand the relationship between marketing and business and understand the Marketing Mix. Learner will also understand the main elements of Marketing Communications and know how to communicate personally in a sales and marketing context.

Assessment

  • Written Exams
  • Each unit will be assessed via a three examination, set and marked by ABE. 

Eligibility for Graduation

Students are expected to attain a minimum of 40% in order to pass the examination and to pass each examination paper. 

Students who have successfully passed all required modules will be eligible for graduation.  

Certification

Students who have completed and passed all the required modules will be awarded

ABE Level 4 Diploma in Marketing Management

ABE has agreement with following universities to allow its level 4 Diploma holders on to various stages of relevant degree courses:

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Age: Atleast 16 years old
  • Academic Level: GCE ‘N’Level/GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent
  • Language Proficiency : GCE ‘N’ Level English/GCE ‘O’ level English /IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
