Programme Overview
This WSQ Certificate programme is intended for adults seeking fundamental knowledge and skills in food and beverage production and wish to apply their learning to the workplace. It presents basic food production principles while emphasizing the importance of meeting the needs and, whenever possible, exceeding the expectations of customers.
The objectives of the WSQ Certificate in Culinary Arts are:
- To prepare individuals for entry-level employment in the food and beverage industry as kitchen assistants.
- To upgrade the individual’s skills and knowledge and obtain a certificate.
Programme Content
- Follow Food and Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures
- Maintain Safe and Secure Working Environment
- Maintain Food and Beverage Production Environment
- Maintain Quality Control Procedures
- Prepare Mise En Place 1
- Demonstrate Basic Moist Heat Cooking Methods
- Demonstrate Basic Dry Heat Cooking Methods
Important to Note
Enrolment is subject to availability and incomplete application will not be processed.
The programme is conducted in english and proficiency in the language is a requirement.

Singaporeans who successfully complete and are awarded a WSQ Certificate for the first time will be eligible for a CET Qualification Award (CQA) of S$200.
Funding
1) WDA Programme Fee Funding
Enjoy up to 90% WDA programme fee funding for all Singapore Citizens and SPRs who are eligible for our WSQ Certificate programmes.
2) Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme - 95% Programme Fee Funding
Eligible for:
- All employed Singaporeans who are eligible for our WSQ Certificate programmes
- 35 years old and above
- Monthly income of not more than S$1,900
