Train The Trainer (TTT) Programme - Develop and Conduct Assessment

  

About this Course

This course covers the principles and methods of constructing assessment to determine the outcome of learning.   In addition to the topics outlined below, participants will learn the do’s and don’ts of constructing theory questions, grading test items, and selecting assessment criteria and tools.  They will be required to prepare a test/assessment plan and both a theory and practical test paper.

The following areas will be covered:

  • Formulate assessment plan
  • Develop theory assessment specifications
  • Develop theory test paper
  • Perform item analysis
  • Design practical assessment specifications
  • Construct practical test paper
  • Conduct assessment of learners
  • Assessment (Participants are required to work on course assignments and sit for a 1 hour written test.)

*Participants are strongly encouraged to bring along a laptop for course work preparation.

 Programme

•  Coaching Skills

This course enables participants to identify the roles and responsibilities of a coach and impart their skills and knowledge effectively. Participants will also learn how to help their trainees and workers discover and develop their individual potential in using newly-learnt skills and knowledge to meet performance standards.

•  Instructional Skills

This course is aimed at enhancing the instructional effectiveness of instructors and supervisors.

•  Plan & Implement OJT

This course is designed for supervisors. It will equip them with the knowledge and skills to plan and implement on-the-job training for trainees and staff, and assess their skill performance.

•  Design & Develop Training Curriculum

This course provides participants with an overview of in identifying training needs and designing in-house training programmes.

•  Develop & Conduct Assessment

This course is designed to provide participants with knowledge on assessment and the skills to construct test items to assess learners’ achievement in theoretical knowledge and practical skills.  It is directed, in particular, towards in-company trainers who are or will be involved in setting tests leading to ITE certificates.

Admission Guidelines

Participants  are to have at least Grade C6 in English at the GCE 'O' level to be able to benefit from the course.

Certification

Participants will be awarded with the Industry Trainer Module Certificate if they satisfy at least 80% of the attendance and pass the assessment at the end of the course.
