Train-The-Trainer on Managing Confined Space Work : Essential Skills

About this Course

Confined space entry presents a myriad of concerns, including pre-entry evaluation of the space, atmospheric and physical hazards during the entry and finally rescue procedures in the event of an emergency. The number of fatalities involving confined spaces is staggering, especially when considering that in many confined space accidents, the rescuer may be the second victim. From 2007 to 2010, confined space accidents in Singapore have already accounts for 13 deaths. Employers must ensure that confined space entry is conducted in a legally compliant manner, under the direction of a competent person. Jointly developed with the WSH Institute, with the support of WSH Council, this SDU-accredited workshop is specially designed for WSH trainers as part of the WSH Train-the trainers (T3) Programme. Specialised technical modules infused with soft skills Discover innovative and effective ways of WSH training Unlike traditional workshops that focus on transmitting technical knowledge in WSH, this workshop is designed with the WSH trainers perspective in mind. Soft skills for effective delivery of Managing Chemicals & Hazardous Substances training are infused into the workshop through the use of various training activities. This will equip WSH trainers with the know-how to engage and effectively impact their audience. Participants will also have the opportunity to hear a MOM OSH Investigation Officer share on site observations and case studies. All participants will also receive a confined space work kit (courtesy of WSH Council) and relevant training materials Networking opportunities Share and learn from similar experiences this workshop is exclusive for practising WSH trainers who bring a great deal of life experiences into the classroom. This is a valuable opportunity to reinforce current knowledge, discuss practical challenges, and unearth solutions as a team. COURSE OBJECTIVES This workshop is specially designed to equip course participants with the skills necessary to deliver classroom-based training on managing confined space work.
