COURSE OBJECTIVES
Skills Foundation Certificate (Food Preparation) 3528- 50, an international qualification awarded by City & Guilds, UK. The Certificate level is to introduce safe working in the lab, prevention of hazards, understand the function ingredients and basic use of kitchen utensils and equipment. Theory and practical guidelines for cooking are covered topics in this Course
Successful graduates with these culinary skills are in high demand for both locally and internationally.

METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
Participants will be required to produce a portfolio illustrating all the practical work that they have completed. Oral questions and practical assessment will be tested upon completion of the programme. This programme requires a Visiting Verifier before the certificates can be awarded.
COURSE DURATION
Full-Time
· Monday to Wednesday: 2½ days
· Time: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
· Training Hours – 20 hours of theory and practical sessions
Part-Time
· 2 evening per week: 2½ weeks
· Time: 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm
· Training Hours – 20 hours of theory and practical sessions
CERTIFICATE - Certificate of Attainment
Upon successful completion of the Course,learners must meet the below minimum requirements for Certificate to be awarded.
1.Learners must achieve at least 75% attendance and successfully pass both the theory and practical assessments upon which they will be awarded with Skills Foundation Certificate (Food Preparation) 3528-50 issued by City & Guilds, UK
CITY & GUILDS EXAMINATION
The City & Guilds International Examination is an external examination conducted by the Baking Industry Training Centre Pte Ltd.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 16 years; and
Academic Level:
Minimum Secondary 1 Level or Other Equivalent Qualifications & Relevant Experience deemed as equivalent by Baking Industry Training College (Subject to Approval by Academic Board) & Interview may be required if applicant does not meet the relevant entry requirement
Language Proficiency:
English at Secondary 2 “or” Other Qualifications deemed as equivalent by Baking Industry Training College (Subject to Approval by Academic Board)
MODE OF PAYMENT
