About this Course

The Preparatory Programme for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an intensive preparatory programme that gives students the confidence and skills to get the results they need in the IELTS test, particularly to meet the English Language requirements for admission to the academic programmes of Universities and PEIs. 

*This course is not suitable if student have little or no knowledge of English,the English Preparatory Programme is more relevant in this case.

Programme Objective

The Preparatory Programme for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) aims to give students the confidence and skills they need to get their desired results in the IELTS test. Students will receive the necessary practices, feedback and test-taking techniques to be fully prepared for each section of the IELTS test.

Examinations & Assessment

The Preparatory Programme for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) covers four IELTS Test Components: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. 

Classes may take a variety of forms including class participation, debates, and oral presentations. Take home work may also be allocated to students. 

All students are required to fulfil the attendance requirement of at least 90% (international students) and 75% (local students).

Award of Certificate

Students who have completed all necessary course works, successfully passed all required modules and met all financial obligations to the Institute shall be awarded the Certificate of Completion.

Programme Structure & Curriculum

The Preparatory Programme for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a 3-month full-time programme, with a total of 150 contact hours. 

Classes are usually held daily (Monday to Friday) either from 9.30am to 12.30pm, or from 2.00pm – 5.00pm.

Prospective students are required to take an English Placement Test and achieve a score of 61% and above or an IELTS score of 5.0 or its equivalent. Applicants may also be interviewed for further assessment.

Minimum age: 15 years

The Marketing Institute of Singapore Training Centre Academic Board reserves the right to change the above requirements and selection at its sole discretion.
