Introduction

The Pearson London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) International Qualifications are recognized by universities, governments and professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), giving you the opportunity to study further.

LCCI Computerised Accounting lesson is conducted using MYOB Computerised Accounting software. It targets on candidates who have knowledge of bookkeeping and who wishes to acquired practical computerized accounting skills.

Objectives

The aim of the course is to allow the candidates to learn to set up sole trader company accounts, records of transactions and depreciations, reconcile bank balances and set up inventory items and maintain the sales and purchases. Thus, candidates will be able to generate a variety of reports at the end of the course.

Entry Requirement

  • Completed the Pearson LCCI Level 2 Book-keeping & Accounts; Or
  • A pass in POA at GCE ‘N’ or GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent for Pearson LCCI Level 2 Computerised Accounting
  • Language Proficiency: Pass in English at Secondary 2 Level or Equivalent
  • Minimum Age: 16 years

Course Duration

  • 2 months, every Saturday from 2.30 pm – 5.00 pm, unless otherwise stated
  • Total no of hours: 20 hours or 8 sessions (2.5hrs per session)

Graduation Requirements

Candidates must fulfill at least 75% course attendance requirements to sit for examinations. To obtain the certificate, students need to obtain at least a Pass grade in their examinations.

Mode of Examination

Written Examination:

The qualification is assessed by an examination in the form of a practical case study, in which it is assumed that the candidate is working in an accounting department using a computerised accounting system. The case study requires candidates to process a variety of business transactions using commercially available computerised accounting software. The time allowed for the examination is 3 hours. The examination is set and marked by EDI.

The examination does not require the use of any specific computerised accounting software. As a guide, the examination is compatible with the following computerised accounting software: Sage 50, MYOB, Microsoft Accounting and QuickBooks.
