About this Course

The Preparatory Course for ACCA - Diploma in Accounting and Business is awarded on the completion of the exams for Accounting in Business (FAB), Management Accounting (FMA), Financial Accounting (FFA). It is broadly equivalent to HND level/equivalent to the first year of a degree.

COURSE SYLLABUS

To achieve the Diploma in Accounting and Business, you will need to register as a student in Foundations in Accountancy with ACCA and complete:

  • Three exams: Accountant in Business (FAB), Management Accounting (FMA) and Financial Accounting (FFA)
  • A professionalism and ethics module called Foundations in Professionalism.

Note: If you have already completed this module, you don’t have to complete it again.

COURSE MODULES

The FAB, FMA and FFA papers are exactly the same as exams F1, F2 and F3 of the ACCA Qualification and share identical syllabuses, study guides and assessment methods.

Upon successful completion of the Preparatory Course for ACCA – Diploma in Accounting and Business, you can progress to the ACCA qualification and continue from F4 paper onwards.

COURSE ASSESSMENT

You will be given a mock test per paper during course of study, as well as regular homework assignments and in-class exercises.

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE

The Certificate is awarded by ACCA.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • 16 years old
  • IELTS 5.5 or pass in English language at GCE ‘O’ level or its equivalent

Route 1: No formal academic qualifications 

Students with no formal academic qualifications can register to take exams at any level within FIA. They must be 16 years old and above.

Route 2: Meeting the minimum entry requirements for the ACCA qualification 

Students who have three (3) years of relevant work experience may study for the Preparatory Course for ACCA - Diploma in Accounting and Business as part of the ACCA qualification. Students who choose this route will need a minimum of three GCE ‘O’ Level and two GCE ‘A’ Levels in five separate subjects including Math and English or their equivalent.
