About this Course

Programme Overview

Research shows that infant massage is really beneficial to both infants and parents. This workshop will help participants gain a better understanding of how infant massage can help their little ones change in their development and growth.

Programme Objectives

To help participants gain a better understanding of the importance of trust and the infant-caregiver relationship. They will learn the techniques of applying nurturing touch and gentle strokes during the care routine.

Programme Outline

What is Infant Massage?
Benefits of Nurturing Touch
Using appropriate oils
Getting into the massage routine
Turning in to infant’s rhythm and recognising his/her signals
Demonstration of basic strokes - the pressure, rate, rhythm of the massage techniques
Demonstration of basic gentle movement – exercise to keep infants flexible and assist in lymphatic drainage

Methodology

The programme includes lectures, visual presentations, demonstrations and discussions providing a complete simulation in infant massage.
