The ability to communicate and work as a team, learning to learn, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills are fundamental skill set to help the workforce meet the challenges of change in their organisations. These skills would enhance workers’ levels of productivity by building their capability to function more effectively, and respond and adapt to the evolving challenges they encounter in the workplace. With the feedback and inputs gathered from industry partners, ITE developed the Generic Workplace Programme, which is a specialised 42-hour curriculum for companies to prepare their employees for their workplace and enhance productivity.

It consists of the following 3 training modules:

• Communication Skills (14 hrs);

• Personal Development Skills (14 hrs); and

• Analytical Skills (14 hrs).

To aid the adoption of the Generic Workplace Programme, a comprehensive package of training resources which include training notes, trainer’s guide, powerpoint presentation resources, and other related classroom activities/worksheets have been developed for participating companies. Thus, companies need only to appoint their own in-house trainers to deliver the training modules.
