  • Effective Facilitation Skills

Teaching Format

The teaching format may be in the form of:

- Lectures

- Interactive group activities

- Experiential exercises

- Videos

- Group work 

- Small and large group sharing and discussions

- Individual and group presentations

- Role plays


 Who Should Attend

This course is designed for those with passion and interest in working with families and would like to enhance their knowledge and skills in Family Life Education (FLE).


 Entry Requirement

Applicants must satisfy the minimum entry requirements of the course:

Have some experience in facilitating family life education sessions

Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English

21 years old and above

For those who do not meet the minimum entry requirements, but have the interest and passion to promote Family Life Education, may be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Registration will be assessed by MSF. Registration will close once the maximum number of registration is reached.

Certification Assessment Requirements / Graduation

Participants who fulfill the following criteria will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by Academy of Human Development and Family Central, supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development:

Oral Presentation1 groupwork workshop (1.5 hours)

Volunteer HoursMinimum 12 hours


As part of the practice component of the course, participants will assist a Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO) in the running of upstream and preventive programmes for families, which includes event management and other administrative tasks. Volunteer services must be completed within 6 months from the date of completion of the course. Participants will be matched with a suitable VWO before the end of the course. Participants are required to liaise directly with the VWOs (on the time and venue) to volunteer their services.
