About this Course

This 21st century is characterized by change of great magnitude, speed, frequency and of diversities and complexities. 

In this two-day workshop, you will learn the answers to handle such big changes from Ancient Chinese Classics and Philosophies. The rapid rise and success of Chinese Corporations have, to a great extend, due to the long term influence of the Chinese Philosophies and their values on their people. 

To work well with the Chinese Corporations or the Chinese staff, one need to understand their philosophies, values, practices and other Chinese Culture uniqueness. From a business and management perspective, we will look at the Chinese Classical Philosophies starting with i-Ching, Lao Zi's Dao School of following the nature, Confucius' Ru School of compassion, righteousness, good manners, wisdom and trust, Mo's School of universal love and quality, Han Fei Zi Fa School of laws and discipline, and Sun Zi's military school of strategies in Arts of War. Case studies on leading Chinese Corporations like Hua Wei and Hong Hai will be covered to provide better understanding.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • The essence of I-Ching (Bible of Change), yin-yang bi-polar views, attributes of time and position, 64 hexagrams of situations and virtues, each with 6-stage life cycles, outcome measures of fortune & disaster, objectives of harmony and flow and its application to leadership , management and growth of businesses.
  • The essence of Lao Zi's Dao School of following the nature, non-action action, humility, selflessness and self-management.
  • The essence of Confucius' Ru School of compassion, compassion, righteousness, good manners, wisdom, trust and boldness. It is about the people and compassion centric school of management.
  • The essence of Mo's School of universal love and equality.
  • The essence of Han Fei Zi's Fa (Legal) School of laws and discipline of rewards of punishments and the autocratic school of management.
  • The essence of Sun Zi's Art of War. The 5 factors, 7 measures and strategies of winning without war, mastering of variations, deception, surprise and speed, divide and focus and intelligence and counter-intelligence.
  • The integrated views and application to the running of successful corporation.
  • The other unique values and practices of Chinese Culture.
  • Brief overview of leading Chinese Corporations like Hua Wei of PRC and Hon Hai of Taiwan.
