Post-Diploma Certificate in Field Practice and Research (Semester 3) Module Synopsis Teacher as Researcher This module enables the participant to undertake an in-depth project in the field of early childhood education as an independent learner. The form of teacher research, taken on is the action research approach. Action research is teacher research with a planned action and implementation of strategies that promote change. This also enhances reflective practice. Learners are to propose, design, review research, investigate and present an area of professional interest. The oral and written presentation will provide information that is relevant to the early childhood community. Supervised Leadership Practicum This module aims to extend participant’s competence in relation to practical aspects of supervision and leadership in early childhood settings. The leadership practice will give opportunities for participants to shadow principals and supervisors; plan and implement learning journey for oneself; reflect on practices and personal learning. Participants will also test out instruments of assessments and evaluations developed in the modules of curriculum design and administration.
