About this Course

The Diploma (Conversion) in Kindergarten Education-Teaching (NVKET) is the first specifically-designed course that focuses on the educational aspects of teaching children in kindergartens with an emphasis on curriculum knowledge and teaching methods. The training programme is equivalent to the WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Kindergarten Teaching) (PDECCE-KT) under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) system. Course Objectives The course aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in the following areas: • Principles and practices of early childhood education and child development • Curriculum planning and pedagogy • Essentials of the early years learning environment and classroom management • Awareness of basic safety, health, hygiene and nutrition for young children • Partnership with families and communities • Personal and professional development
