About this Course

Since the maiden release of OHSAS 18001 in 1999, many companies have used the standard as the framework to improve their occupational health and safety practices, to meet legal and local authority’s compulsions, as well as to demonstrate social responsibilities. With the release of the 2007 version, the international community can expect an Occupational Health & Safety Management System standard with strengthen requirements, better alignment with the complementary Environmental Management System standard of ISO 14001, and a clearer focus on results. This training will provide participants with a good knowledge of the requirements and practical approaches to establish an effective Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System. Objectives • Understanding of the OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements and updates • Understanding the terms relating to health & safety • Overview of techniques relating to hazard identification and risk assessment & control • Preparation of documentation to meet the OHSAS requirements • Implementation and continued maintenance of the system.
