About this Course

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT

Professional Diploma in Accounting and Business Finance aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to work as accounting or finance professional in any type or size of organisations and in any sector of public or private organisations as well as to promote graduates to relevant bachelor degree programmes with world class universities.

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT METHODS

Delivery Method

The curriculum is taught over approximately 10 months as part time, with each term 10 weeks covering 2 subjects, and 5 weeks covering 1 subject. Each subject covers 24 to 48 contact hours with 3 hours per session in one term.

Assessment Methods

Each unit is assessed by any combination of class participation, written assignments, project or examinations. Assessment methods may vary according to individual unit requirements.

GRADUATION AND DEGREE

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded the Professional Diploma in Accounting and Business Finance, Kaplan Higher Education Institute, as appropriate.

Subsequently, students may pursue the bachelor degree programme in Kaplan Higher Education or other bachelor degree programmes. The articulated bachelor degree programme is also subject to the prior qualification of candidates and university requirement upon entry application.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This professional diploma accepts various qualifications. It aims to extend the core knowledge and enhance professional skills in accounting and business finance. The multiplicity in the entry route allowed leads the graduates to specific level in degree education at the end of this professional diploma study.

• GCE 'A' level or equivalent
• GCE 'O' level or equivalent
• GCE 'N' level, Higher NITEC or equivalent

* Mature candidates who do not possess above mentioned qualification will be assessed under case by case.

* Any exemption of modules or additional modules required as per entry assessment.
