About this Course
The purpose of the course is to provide course participants with the requisite work at height (WAH) knowledge to manage working at height activities, so that they are carried out properly and safely. This is in compliance with WSH (Work At Height) Regulations 2013 which states “It shall be the duty of the responsible person of any person who carries out or is to carry out any work at height to ensure that the person shall work at height in a workplace only after he has re-ceived adequate safety and health training to familiarize himself with the hazards associated with work at height and the precautions to be observed”.
*Note: [To raise the quality of workplace Safety and Health (WSH) training, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has made it a requirement for us as a learning service providers to attain the ISO 29990:2010 Learning Service Provider (LSP) certification.
The ISO 29990:2010 LSP certification is administered by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) through its Certification Bodies (CBs) and will replace the MOM Accredited Training Provider (ATP) Scheme.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the training, course participants will be capable to:
- Identify the essential workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislations / approved codes of practice / Singapore Standards applicable to WAH and roles and responsibilities.
- Hazard identification for WAH and fall control to WAH.
- Demonstrate ability in donning, checking and correcting of individual fall protection equipment and use of self relief technique during harness suspension trauma situations.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This training is designed for WAH workers who are required to perform work at height activities.
COURSE CONTENT
The course consists of the following modules
- WSH Act, WAH Regulations 2013, Risk Management regulations, Codes of Practice, ACOP and Singapore Standards.
- Roles and responsibilities of workers
- Hazard identification, control measures for WAH and fall control measures.
- Permit to work for WAH.
- Individual Fall Protection equipment and first line response in emergency.
DURATION
The course is delivered over 1 day or 6 hrs training and 1.5hrs assessment.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
The participant is recommended to possess basic health and safety knowledge. Language proficiency, recommend WPLN Level 2 and above or equivalent for English language.
HOW IS IT ASSESSED?
At the end of the course, participants will be assessed by:
- 20 multiple-choice questions [60% passing mark]
- Practical assessment which includes: • Harness Fitting • Usage of double lanyard for 100% tie-off • Travel using Horizontal Lifelines • Climbing with Retractable Fall Arrestors • Ascending & descending with Fall Arrestors and vertical Lifelines
Course participants with 100% attendance and successfully completed / passed both the practical and written assessments, will be awarded the Work-At-Heights For Workers certificate issued by KB Access Pte Ltd ~ Certified under ISO 29990:2010 Standard.
