*NOTE: It is COMPULSORY for trainees to wear safety boots during the practical assessment.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The purpose of this MOM approved Work-At-Height (WAH) course is to train candidates with the mandatory WAH knowledge so as to supervise and manage WAH activities correctly and safely.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, candidates will be able to:

• Identify applicable workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislations / approved codes of practice / Singapore Standards applicable to WAH and the roles and responsibilities of the personnel.
  
• Carry out risk assessment for WAH as well as implement preventive measures.
  
• Implement a fall prevention plan.
  
• Demonstrate his/her proficiency in donning, checking and correcting of individual fall protection equipment and first line response in emergency.
  

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This MOM work at height course is designed for WAH supervisors, foremen and personnel taking charge of workers who are required to carry out WAH activities.

COURSE CONTENT

The course covers the following modules:

• WSH Act, WAH & Risk Management regulations, Codes of Practice, ACOP and Singapore Standards.
  
• Roles and responsibilities of supervisor.
  
• Risk assessment, hazard identification, control measures for WAH and fall control measures.
  
• Permit to work for WAH.
  
• Fall Prevention Plan (FPP) and its components, including emergency response for WAH.
  
• Individual Fall Protection equipment and first line response in emergency.
  

DURATION

The course will be delivered over 12 hours or 2 days (including 2hrs written test and 1hr practical assessment).

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Candidates should possess basic health and safety awareness knowledge. Language proficiency, recommend WPLN Level 5 and above or equivalent for English language.

HOW IS IT ASSESSED?

The course will be assessed by:

1. A short written/multiple-choice paper (10 short answer questions and 2 scenario based questions).
   
2. Practical assessment (Includes: • Harness Fitting • Usage of double lanyard for 100% tie-off • Travel using Horizontal Lifelines • Climbing with Retractable Fall Arrestors • Ascending & descending with Fall Arrestors and vertical Lifelines).
   

Candidates with 100% attendance and successfully completed / passed both the practical and written assessments will be awarded the Work-At-Height for Supervisors certificate issued by KB Access Pte Ltd ~ Accredited by Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Singapore.
