Introduction

Pearson LCCI Level 2 Book-keeping & Accounts is targeted at candidates with basic book-keeping knowledge who have interest to understand more précised Book-keeping applications. It includes the ledger accounts for various segments, preparation of final accounts and calculations for accounting ratios.

Objectives

The aim of the course is to test the candidate’s understanding of the basic principles underlying the recording of business transactions, including of the influence Information Technology and the ability to prepare and interpret accounts for sole traders, partners, non-trading organizations and limited companies.

6. Stock valuation

7. Non-trading organisations

8. Control accounts

9. Suspense accounts

10. Calculation and interpretation of ratios

11. Preparation, by the use of ratios, of simple financial statements

Entry Requirements

  • Completed the LCCI  Level 1 Certificate in Elementary Book-Keeping  or Equivalent
  • Language Proficiency: Pass in English at Secondary 2 Level or equivalent
  • Minimum Age: 16 years

Course Duration

Part-Time:

4 months, every Tuesday at 7.00 pm – 9.30 pm, unless otherwise stated

Total no of hours: 45 hours or 18 sessions (2.5hrs per session)

Graduation Requirements

Candidates must fulfill at least 75% course attendance requirements to sit for examinations. To obtain the certificate, students need to obtain at least a Pass grade in their examinations.

Mode of Examination

Written Examination:

  • The time allowance for the examination is 3 hours
  • There will be 5 questions on the examination paper
  • Candidates are required to answer 4 questions. No question will be compulsory
  • Each question will carry equal marks

Answer Formats

The answers required will be predominantly of a quantitative nature, but candidates will be expected to demonstrate their understanding of the subjects at an appropriate level.
