This unit addresses the skills and knowledge required to devise organisational responses to national strategic manpower initiatives.  It covers ensuring national strategic initiatives are understood, analysing current practices and devising implementation strategies.

  • Maintain current knowledge of national manpower initiatives and best practices
  • Prioritise and internalise national manpower initiatives most applicable to the current needs of the organisation

2. Review organisational implications of implementation of national manpower initiatives

  • Review organisational policies and procedures against national manpower initiatives and best practices
  • Identify areas of enhancement for organisational human capitals policies and procedures
  • Consult and provide relevant advice to stakeholders to ensure buy-in into the process of change

3. Incorporate national manpower initiatives in relevant human capital policies and procedures

  • Drive the development and revision of policies and procedures as required and in accordance with organisational requirements to address national manpower initiatives
  • Facilitate the roll-out of implementation plan to incorporate national manpower initiatives
  • Evaluate effectiveness of implementation and refine polices and procedures, where necessary

4. Communicate national manpower initiatives

  • Use communication channels to effectively inform employees about changed human resource practices as a result of policy enhancements
  • Communicate to employees the impact of national manpower initiatives on their employment to get buy-in and feedback before and during implementation
  • Provide feedback to the national tripartite agencies on any consequential issues surrounding implementation of national manpower initiatives
