Course Description
Crisis Management Implementer or CM-300 is a 2-day intermediate course with an two and half hour 100 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based examination, following the successful completion of the course.
This intermediate-level course is suitable for organisations and agencies embarking on its crisis management journey after the completion of its Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) implementation effort. Some participants will use this to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of their crisis management program. Others will use this as a tool to help to develop specific crisis management plans. Using a case study and experience sharing by the facilitator, this course has been recommended by past participants to be a practical course that will take the participants through the proper implementation of a crisis management plan.
A crisis is almost guaranteed to happen at the most inconvenient time, from the first day of launch of a product to Friday at 4:30 pm. Most people who work with issues that affect the public have received the dreaded telephone call, read a damaging headline, or been surprised by a negative video bite which makes your organization's day a bad horror movie. Crisis Management Implementer or CM-300 is a two-day (intermediate-level) Crisis Management course for participants to guide professional who are appointed with the responsibilities to manage crisis, disaster and any events. The course is an experiential facilitated workshop led by an experienced instructor.
Certification
Crisis Management Certified Specialist (CMCS) Certification is awarded to participants who successfully complete their CMCS examination, with verifications of the participant's experience by Certification Committee of BCM institute.
Objectives
Participants will emerge with a clear understanding on the expectation of crisis management and its processes. These includes the understanding of the following:
- Understand the crisis management planning methodology.
- Assemble the crisis management team members.
- Assess the risk and threats such as riots, supply chain disruptions and product recalls.
- Learn to track and trace incident events and prioritize decisions and activities.
- Link crisis communications within and outside of the organization.
- Have a clear view of the command and control within the command centres.
- Coordinate with external agencies and local authorities.
- Test and exercise the crisis management plan.
- Manage the crisis management together with other plans such as BC and DR.

- Novice and newly appointed crisis management and support teams members.
- BC Managers/ Coordinators and their Project Team members, and CM/BC/Disaster Recovery (DR) Team Leaders would benefit from the workshop.
Examination
This course incorporates a 100-Multiple Choice Question electronic exam on the next day. The duration of examination is 2 and 1/2 hour. Candidates who achieve with a passing score of 75% or higher are eligible to apply for the BCM Institute's Crisis Management Certified Specialist (CMCS) accreditation. The examination fee is included as part of the course fee.
