About this Course
This course aims to exposed students into knowing the newest, state-of-the-art training principles. The beginning stage follows a trail of theories of strength training where students will gradually learn the difference between strength and muscular endurance.
It was developed to assist students in understanding the need for construction specific, structured strength training programs. The course will discuss and demonstrate how to structure training programs that target sport specific energy system requirements.
The intermediate stage introduces students to the key elements of designing a strength training program. In this stage, students will learn the importance of understanding, designing and executing successful conditioning programs for the benefit of athletes. The final stage will focus on phases of periodization, types of effective training method, fatigue and ways of recovery.
After completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the different energy systems
- Develop training programs that target each of the specific energy systems
- Differentiate between strength, endurance, speed, coordination and flexibility training programs.
- Describe the muscle response to training.
- Define the six basic laws of strength training.
- Describe and apply the basic training principle.
- Develop short-and-long term periodization plans
AWARD
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded:
Certificate in Sports Strength & Conditioning by the United States Sports Academy, ‘America’s Sports University”.
