About this Course
This course focuses on the principles, guidelines, and recommendations for planning, constructing, using, and maintaining sports facilities. Facility funding and management are key areas in the field of sports management. Cities, universities, and professional teams all need facilities that provide safe and pleasant environment for participants, spectators, and host administrators.
The course addresses all of the areas mentioned above, plus many more. At the end of the course you should have an understanding and appreciation for numerous aspects of facility planning and management
COURSE GOALS
Students will get to experience numerous aspects of facility planning and management, from behind the scene to frontline of major sport events including facility funding. They will learn ways to operate; manage and utilize facilities for both short and long term functions.
Upon completion, student will be able to:
- Manage sports facilities effectively with efficiency.
- Describe the changes and how sport facilities have evolved throughout their history.
- Distinguished and define terms from facilities and facilities management disciplines.
- Understand the role and decision making as a facility manager.
- Applying effective communication and leadership skills for optimum facility management.
- Understanding the process and application of sport facility planning, development, funding and construction.
- Identify legal issues related to the operation and management of sport facilities
AWARD
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded:
Certificate in Sports Facilities & Events Management by the United States Sports Academy, ‘America’s Sports University”.
COURSE DURATION
The course may be completed in 8weeks (40 hours)
Assessment Methods
Students will sit for a written examination at the end of each module.
