Course Syllabus/Content: (Module Descriptors)
Corporate Strategy and Planning
In this module , the learner will understand the know how to critically assess the nature , scope and need for corporate strategic planning. Learner will also be able to critically evaluate the tools and techniques of analysis for corporate strategic planning decisions. And be able to identify and critically assess strategic options and decisions and decide between them. Lastly learner will be able to critically evaluate key contemporary issues and future challenges affecting corporate strategic planning.
Managing in Organisations
In this module, the learner will be able to compare and evaluate alternative approaches to organisation theory. The learner will also understand the key elements in organisational structure and design and managerial processes within an organisational context. They will also understand the concepts of organisational strategy and organisational goals and their relationship to organisational effectiveness and efficiency. Learner will also understand the need for organisational responsiveness to ensure continued effectiveness in the light of external/internal pressures. Lastly the learner will understand the processes of organisational change and organisational development.
International Business Case Study
This unit will enable learners to understand the international business environment facing global operators. They will also know how to develop a strategic business plan for an international organisation and understand how to evaluate the implementation of a strategic business plan. Learner will also know how to evaluate and recommend organisational structures for international operations and know how to evaluate and recommend organisational structures for international operations. Lastly learner will understand the macro environmental factors that affect the international organisation.
Corporate Finance
In this module, students will learn and understand the role of the Corporate Finance Manager and its main links to business objectives including mergers and acquisitions. Learner will also understand the main sources of debt and equity funding and the significance of financial gearing and be able to evaluate investment decisions using a variety of appraisal techniques. Learner will also understand and be able to calculate the main methods for valuing company shares and factors that determine a company’s dividend policy. Lastly, learner will be able to understand the concept of, and know how to calculate, the cost of capital of a business and understand the different elements of treasury and working capital and be able to perform calculations from a given set of data to determine the effect on an element of, or on the entire working capital of, a business.
Project Management
In this module, students will be able to initiate the preliminary stages of a project and able to analyse the project work content and associated risks, in order to obtain estimates and tenders. Learner will also be able to create a detailed project plan and understand how the progress of a project can be monitored and controlled. They will also learn how to organise a suitable team structure for the project personnel and devise strategies for leading them effectively. Lastly, learner will also understand the management of quality and change within a project and know about the recommended activities and required reports in the closure and review of a project.
Assessment
- Written Examination
Each unit will be assessed via a three examination, set and marked by ABE.
Eligibility for Graduation
Students are expected to attain an overall minimum of 40% in order to pass the examination and to pass examination paper.
Students who have successfully passed all required module will be eligible for graduation.
Certification
Students who have completed and passed all the required modules will be awarded
ABE LEVEL 6 DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (GRADUATE)

Entry Requirements
- Any ABE Level 5 Diploma or equivalent
- A degree or equivalent and must be competent in English ( IELITS 5.0 ) and Mathematics.
