Audience:

Shipyard workers in the hot-work trade industry.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Recognise their roles and duties in shipyard works

Implement safety measures and procedures for Hot Work work

Course Outline:

  • Types of hotwork
  • Characteristics of flammable substances
  • Causes of fires and explosions
  • Case studies on shipyard fire and explosion accidents
  • Safety measures for preventing fires and explosions
  • Permit-to-Work systems (PTW)

Pre-requisites:

Participants must successfully complete the Shipyard Safety Instruction Course (General Trade) or (Painter Trade) course.

Duration:

4 hours (including assessment)

Schedule:

8.30AM – 6.30PM
