About this Course

KBA Training (KBAT) is pleased to host an upcoming 'ROV Pilot Technician Induction' course that is conducted by MTCS Services (Asia Pacific) Ltd.The training will be held in Singapore whereby MTCS will be utilising KBAT classroom and training facility. This expands our Commercial Diving portfolio for competency development training

MTCS Ltd is a fully accredited training centre and their courses meet the industry requirements as laid down by the trade association IMCA. The 10-day ROV induction course begins a 1 year blended learning program focusing on technical and operational concepts within the ROV industry.

COURSE CONTENT

The ongoing programme includes a combination of distance learning modules on safety and technical aspects relating to ROV systems. This includes assessment and feedback on performance offshore.

The course includes:

  • Types of ROV systems used
  • Safety Management Systems
  • Basic Seamanship
  • ROV Operations
  • Basic Piloting of an ROV system on a simulator
  • Technical system overview
  • Electrical and hydraulic maintenance requirements
  • Camera and Video systems
  • Umbilical retermination including fibre optics
  • Underwater tooling
  • Client workshop visit
  • CV (resumé) clinic

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Open ROV Pilot Technician Induction Course is designed specifically for candidates who already have the prerequisite electrical, electronic, mechanical or hydraulic experience to apply their existing skills to the ROV Industry.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It is imperative that all candidates have a suitable technical background to attend the course and secure a position in the industry once completed. Candidates must therefore have at least 2 years experience in one of the following with an emphasis on first line fault finding and repair:

  • Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • Hydraulic/Mechanical Systems

MTCS Ltd request a comprehensive and up to date CV from applicants and will offer a fair appraisal of the candidate’s chances of securing work in the industry prior to them investing time and money on our course.

DURATION

10 days - Monday to Friday from 0930hrs to 1630hrs. (1hr Lunch Break)

Saturday & Sunday is non study day.

ASSESSMENT & CERTIFICATION

Assessment is carried out by:

  • Multiple choice exam
  • Written Examination
  • Observation (Practical aptitude piloting)
  • Observation (Technical aptitude)
  • Questioning

Successful Candidates will be awarded ‘ROV Pilot Technician’ Grade II Certificate of Training’ and ‘ROV Pilot Technician Grade I Certificate of Training’. . 

FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS

Candidates will be registered into the MTCS Competence Management Program which allows progression through the IMCA grading system. At this stage, MTCS also offer guidance on job applications.
