About this Course

The Specialist Diploma in Radiology Nursing aims to equip the students with specialised knowledge and skills required to provide holistic care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures. Radiology Nursing 2 (45 hrs) This module introduces participants to the knowledge and skills in interventional radiology. It includes planning, co-ordination of care, patient education and management of procedural complications. It also equips participants with foundation in principles of health assessment. Anaesthetic and Perioperative Care (30 hrs) The module provides participants with the knowledge and skills relating to the principles of asepsis, perioperative and perianaesthesia nursing in radiological surgical interventions. Relevant practical skills will be incorporated to enhance the integration of theoretical knowledge to practical applications. Radiology Nursing Clinical Practice (75 hrs) This module provides participants with learning opportunities to explore, analyse and integrate concepts learnt in the academic setting into the actual practice of radiology nursing. Participants must be self-directed to ensure clinical objectives are achieved.
