Post-Diploma Certificate in Management of Data Centre [150 hours] The Post-Diploma Certificate in Management of Data Centre equips the participants with the know-how to design, manage and operate the next generation data centre, apply industry best practices for service and security management, perform fault management and analysis, manage energy efficiency and carry out business continuity and disaster recovery planning. Module 1: Data Centre Planning and Design [50 hours] This module will expose students to the key components and technologies of the data centre. Students will learn the different data centre tiers standard and how to plan and design key aspects such as power, cooling, and critical power and safety measures to ensure a high availability data centre. Students will also learn to implement data centre infrastructure management software to manage the systems and facilities. Aspects of green data centre standards and practices will also be covered. Module 2: Data Centre Service Management and Analysis [50 hours] This module equips the students with service management and analysis capabilities to manage and operate the high-availability data centre. Students will learn to apply ITIL/ISO 20000 service management standards and processes for data centre operations, and ISO 27001 standards to manage information security. They will also learn to use service management software and tools to manage fault and analyse service performance. Business continuity and disaster recovery planning as well as storage and backup management will also be covered. Module 3: Data Centre Infrastructure Management Project [50 hours] In this project, the students will implement data centre infrastructure and service management software to monitor and manage the critical facilities, such as power and cooling, improve data centre energy efficiency, and ensure the availability of the ICT infrastructure and services. They will also utilise appropriate tools for data analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting. Using real-world scenarios, the students will perform fault and security management and business continuity planning based on service management best practices.
