About this Course

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required by a supervisor or a senior plant technician taking a lead technical role in the planning of plant or equipment shutdown such as for major maintenance, upgrades/refits or other planned shutdown activities. This competency requires the application of detailed plant knowledge to the task of developing a detailed shut down plan. The person is generally part of a team and would be working with technical (process) experts, maintenance experts and contractor representatives, and liaising with production and other management.
