About this Course

Objectives

To equip participants with basic computer hardware/software skills such as PC maintenance, installing application software, PC system and devices so that they will be able to perform preventive maintenance on their PCs and simple troubleshooting whenever they encounter any PC related problems.

2. Troubleshooting hardware

3. Dos Commands

4. System concepts/maintenance

5. HardDisk Maintenance

6. Setting up operating system

7. Maintain your PC

8. Advance troubleshooting – Hardware/Operating system

9. Basic operations: regular backups, installing software, installing drivers, files and directories maintenance, enabling/disabling screen savers and wallpaper

10. Adding plug and play components

11. Collecting Information about PC System

12. PC Disassembly Techniques

13. PC Devices

14. Adding and removing Windows XP components

15. Installing and uninstalling Windows XP applications

16. Protecting your PC

17. Preventive Maintenance

18. Familiarising participants with problem causing virus, worms, trojans, hackers and scams

Course Duration

2 sessions * 8hrs (9am- 5pm) = 16hrs
