About this Course

This unit addresses the skills and knowledge required to operate an organisation’s people management/human capital information systems.  It covers receiving and entering data, generating reports and reporting on issues.

Learning Outcomes

1. Input Data into PM/HCIS

  • Select and access systems to input required information
  • Identify and check accuracy of information to be entered into people management/human capital information systems
  • Enter data into appropriate people management/human capital information systems in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Identify any actions resulting from entry of data into system

2. Produce reports from PM/HCIS

  • Identify data that is required to generate reports that are up to date and accurate
  • Access systems to retrieve required information and generate reports
  • Review information to ensure accuracy, reliability and sufficiency of information relevant to its intended use, considering any security or access limitations
  • Document the provision of information in accordance with relevant policies and procedures 

3. Report on systems issues to achieve improvement

  • Identify errors in system and report to appropriate employees
  • Suggest improvements for increasing effectiveness in system
  • Troubleshoot minor system issues within capabilities
