About this Course

More and more organisations are investing more in IT systems and services as IT use becomes more prevalent, complex and tightly integrated with business processes. Board and senior executives understand that IT is a key enabler in transforming business, increasing efficiency, enhancing effectiveness, and improving the quality of services to customers. At the same time they also understand that IT investments, like other investments need to be directed and managed by the Board and senior management. The benefits and value from IT investments often varies from a spectrum ranging from quantifiable and defined, to fuzzy and intangible. Boards and Executive management realize that governance must be extended to IT. However, senior management may not have the bandwidth to get involved in all the IT-related decisions. Hence it is important to have a sound governance system in managing the IT portfolio where all stakeholders (including the board and the internal customers) are involved in the decision-making process. The objective of the governance of IT is to ensure that organisations obtain value for their IT investments in IT while managing risk This course is focused on adopting and implementing effective IT governance practices to manage IT portfolio in supporting the organisation¿s business strategies. It defines the decision rights and, the accountability and authority framework for implementation of IT decisions. On completion of this course, participants will be able to ¿ Determine portfolio performance drivers to achieve desired outcomes ¿ Determine target infocomm portfolio¿s key Performance Indicators(KPI) based on portfolio objectives ¿ Monitor infocomm portfolio KPIs to support decision making process ¿ Recommend measures for continuous improvement for current infocomm portfolio ¿ Develop a roadmap to implement the recommendations
