About this Course

This workshop is about how you can become a more effective manager through mindfulness practice. You will learn the skills to manage your own self and your own team as well as how to influence peers, partners and customers.

In today’s complex business world, you are constantly challenged to take on more and more responsibilities. There are constant distractions from social media. How can you see the “big picture” when you have to “sweat the small stuff” on a daily basis?   

In this Mindfulness in Management workshop, you will learn about how the latest research in Neuroscience shows that the brain will become more resilient and better at problem-solviing with the right type of brain exercises.

Through Mindfulness practices, you will learn how to focus and, at the same time, be aware of what’s happening in your rapidly changing work environment. The practices that are taught in the workshop have been validated through laboratory research in the last 20 years. The workshop will give you the foundation to enhance your emotional intelligence and lead your team to seek out creative solutions to work problems. 

Learning Outcomes:

Neuroscience Research has confirmed that our brains are “Neuroplastic”. This is a technical term which means that our brains can be shaped and reshaped through Mindfulness Training, which will help you to improve in the following critical areas:

  • Manage Stress and build your resilence
  • Understand your own operating style and how it impacts others
  • Develop your emotional intelligence so you can empathize with those whom you wish to influence
  • Gain access to your Creative Self

Course Outline:

  • Developing a positive mindset so that no problem appears overwhelming
  • Assessing your own and competitors’ strengths and weaknesses with clarity
  • How to increase your EQ to improve relationship with staff and business partners
  • How to generate creative solutions by yourself and through inspiring your team members

There will be lectures, video presentations, discussion groups as well as, most importantly, Mindfulness Practices to ensure that participants master the skill. 

These practices originated in Asia but it is only in the last 20 years that neuroscience research has confirmed that they work just as well in today’s supercharged working environment, to keep you focused and aware of the speed of change.

This is a skill-based course and, in acquiring a skill, practice is necessary.

Post-course Follow-up (Optional):

While you will be taught the skills during the 1-day workshop, the facilitators will also conduct complimentary follow-up sessions as follows.

  • individual telephone counseling to enable you to seek their advice on your practice, and
  • one group session to take place at least a fortnight after the workshop

This course will benefit all managers, supervisors and specialist staff who have to manage complex organizations and business relationships, whether with staff inside the company or with partners and customers.

These include leaders in fields such as Sales and Marketing, Sales Support Services, Office Management and Administration, Operations and Supply Chain Management. These leaders could come from all fields of business such as banking and finance, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals, engineering and shipbuilding, retail and supply chain management, etc.
