About this Course

Microsoft Project is a project management software program which is designed to assist a Project Manager in developing a project plan.

Through the use of Project, the Project Manager will be working, managing and scheduling tasks; creating and assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budget and analysing workloads.

Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to;

  • Work, manage and schedule project tasks in addition on working and managing resources
  • Participants will be given the opportunity to view their project plans in different views
  • Learn how to assign costs to their project plans
  • Learn the importance of working with calendars and baselines as well as how to evaluate and track the progress of their project plans
  • Print their project plans for reporting purposes
  • Export their project plans to other applications

Target Audience

This course is for a person who not only has a basic understanding of project management concepts but who is responsible for creating and modifying project plans as well as requiring a tool to manage those project plans.

Duration

Two days

Methodologies

No foreknowledge of Project is required. Participants need only be familiar with the operations of a PC and Microsoft Windows, such as mouse handling and file management.

A combination of lectures, explicit teaching, practical demonstrations and peer teaching is applied for this course.
