About this Course

About the course:

This course is to train personnel in the knowledge and skills in erection, alteration and dismantling various types of marine metal scaffolds used for providing access in the repair and construction of ships, rigs and other marine structures.

Legal Requirement:

The Factories (Shipbuilding and Ship Repairing) Regulations 1994

Sec 77 

No scaffold shall be erected or be substantially added to or altered or be dismantled except under the immediatesupervision of a scaffold supervisor who is approved by the Chief Inspector. The Chief Inspector may revoke the approval of any scaffold supervisor if he is satisfied that the scaffold supervisor has failed to discharge his duties under regulation 78

Entry Requirements:

Participants are require to wear their safety boots for the practical sessions.

Only the trainees who are obtaining 75% Overall Attendance and 100% Attendance for practical lessons will be allowed to sit for the test.
