About this Course

At the end of the course, participants will be able to: Understand the legal requirements on manhole work Acquire knowledge on manholes, their hazards and consequences, control and mitigation measures Understand the need of having an effective manhole entry permit system Acquire the ability to conduct gas testing according to the gas monitoring protocol for manhole entry using a systematic approach: - Identify the atmospheric hazards existing in the manhole - Select the type of gas monitoring instruments to quantify the identified air contaminants - Conduct the gas testing to evaluate conditions of the manhole - Record and interpret the gas measurements obtained
