Learning Outcomes

1. Establish provider requirements and standards

  • Identify and document requirements and performance criteria of the services/products that are to be outsourced
  • Identify potential vendors or contractors that meet the minimum qualifying criteria
  • Identify evaluation criteria to support an objective decision making process for the short listing of vendors or contractors

2. Engage appropriate providers

  • Determine selection approach to shortlist providers
  • Invite responses from vendors to bid for the provision of the product/service
  • Review applications to supply services/products against established criteria
  • Select preferred vendor or contractor to begin negotiation and develop contract documentation that meet requirements of both parties
  • Arrange for contract signing and communicate engagement of service providers and terms of engagement to relevant stakeholders

3. Manage transition and contract implementation

  • Manage transition issues to support effective contract implementation
  • Manage contractor activities and variations to ensure that contractor complies with contractual obligations
  • Ensure all actions are undertaken by organisation to fulfil contractual obligations
