Higher Nitec in Filmmaking (Cinematography) graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics.

Some of the job titles held by graduates include assistant to Camera Operator, Camera Assistant, Focus Puller, Steadycam Operator, Data Wrangler, Post-Production Assistant, Lighting Crew, Grip, Gaffer and Sound Recordists.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions such as Cinematographer or Director of Photography. The challenge is for student to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.

Pre-Production

  • Carry out creative and technical post-production work like colour correction and video grading.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Higher Nitec in Filmmaking (Cinematography) course, you need to have:

GCE 'O' level grades in English Language, Mathematics and 1 other subject

Note: Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency.  Applicants must undergo admission interview.
