About this Course
This module on Health & Workplace Safety addresses the key skills an employee would need in the critical areas of personal health & hygiene and workplace safety.
It also incorporates the company’s own policies and procedures into the learning so that the participant can play an effective contributory role in the company’s health and safety environment.
From knowing critical information such as health providers to procedures for handling communicable diseases to aspects of mental as well as physical well being, this programme requires participants to demonstrate awareness, know how and actual hands on procedures for this competency based training programme.
Course Brief
A 9 hoursworkshop to help you increase your awareness & competencies in Health & Safety, covering critical areas such as understanding the Safety Act, responsibilities of workers for Safety, understanding and preventing risks, evacuation procedures, etc.
Competencies of WHS Module
- Element 8.1.1 Follow safe work practices and risk control procedures
- Practice personal hygiene at workplace in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment required for the work in accordance with organizational procedures
- Use and maintain workplace equipment and safety devices in accordance with organizational procedures or manufacturer’s instructions
- Follow safety signs and instructions in workplace
- Follow workplace risk control measures in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Report workplace safety and health issues to appropriate person in accordance with the organizational procedures and Workplace Safety and Health Act
- Element 8.1.2 Participate in workplace safety and health management activities
- Identify and report potential hazards and risks associated within the work area in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Report unsafe working conditions and work practices in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Participate in resolving hazards and risks identified in the work area in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Participate in identifying personal protective equipment requirements for the work in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Participate in identifying safety device required for safe operations of machinery and equipment at the workplace
- Participate in identifying information needed to handle workplace emergencies
- Participate in workplace safety and health training
- Element 8.1.3 Follow workplace emergency response procedures
- React to the types of emergencies at the workplace
- Use equipment and materials required for workplace emergency response in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Activate emergency services in the event of emergency at the workplace in accordance with the organizational procedures
- Follow the instructions given by the authorized personnel in the event of emergency at the workplace
- Participate in the organizational emergency response exercise in accordance with the guidelines provided by the relevant regulatory requirements
- Follow infectious disease outbreak control at the workplace in accordance with the guidelines provided by the regulatory bodies
