OVERVIEW

Creating and maintaining shareholder value is fundamental in today’s complex and fast-paced business climate. In order to produce shareholder value, the contemporary corporation must stress the strategic importance of project selection, financing, and the use of cash and other resources.

The goal of the workshop is to provide managers and decision-makers who do not possess a strong grounding in finance an understanding of their firm’s financial approach. Participants will gain a detailed understanding of critical financial fundamentals and will, as a result, be able to communicate financial decisions confidently.

Upon completion of this program

Participants will understand how finance professionals analyze and evaluate financial decisions, and will possess an understanding of how they can contribute to the creation of significant shareholder value.

In this program we will attempt to demystify the complexities of business FINANCIALS and provide practical skills to the participants through an experiential environment. This program is unique from other financial for non-financial managers as it is very hands-on and we will be using a combination of video-based case studies, cases studies and workplace simulation.

SIMULATION OVERVIEW

At the heart of the Workshop is an exciting and dynamic computer-based business simulation which provides participants with a broad perspective on running a business as part of a senior management team.  Under realistic and sometimes adverse economic conditions, teams must make strategic and tactical decisions, evaluate performance results, and compete for market share and business opportunities. They learn how to gain a competitive advantage in a ‘real life’ marketplace.  Participants take control of a multi-million dollar company faced with several problems. Management teams make decisions on every aspect of business including: marketing, operations and finance.
