Employee Engagement and Motivation

About this Course

Positive leadership can contribute to motivated employees. Competitive benefits and compensation programs can bring employee satisfaction. A conducive organisation culture reinforces motivation as well. However, the employees may not have positive emotional attachment to the organisation to enable them to contribute their best or stay loyal to the organisation.

Positive employee engagement has been associated with high performing organisations. Engaged employees are not only motivated but they are enthusiastic about their work, are willing to further their organisation’s interests and stay loyal and committed to their organisation’s goals. In fact, studies have shown that the degree of an employee’s positive emotional attachment to their job and organisation, will influence the way they work and grow with the organisation. High employee engagement is a factor in business success.

In addition to motivating employees, the challenge that managers face is how to engage their employees’ hearts and minds and in so doing, improve their overall performance. Employee engagement should not be viewed as a human resource function but an organisational strategy that empowers its leadership to instil and sustain a positive work culture that engages employees.

In order to engage employees, managers must understand the link between organisation culture and employee engagement, the components and drivers of employee engagement and how employee engagement can be measured, enhanced and sustained.

This course provides participants with a better understanding of employee engagement at a deeper level, unleashing people management skills and knowledge to bring out the best from employees. It provides knowledge on the concepts of engagement, drivers of engagement, managerial roles and responsibilities in employee engagement. In addition, participants will learn how engagement activities can be developed, implemented and their effectiveness measured and reviewed.
